Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients with compassion and clinical precision
• Assess patient condition, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications, manage IV therapy and perform clinical procedures safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care and smooth transitions
• Document care thoroughly and accurately in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans to ensure readiness

Qualifications

• Current, active RN licensure for Louisiana (required)
• Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing (Med/Surg) — comfortable with 12-hour shift cadence
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred if not already obtained)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively on a busy inpatient unit
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask and maintain clinical accuracy under pressure

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid grasp of medical-surgical nursing principles and patient assessment
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Infection control and patient safety best practices
• Teamwork, bedside manner and effective patient/family education skills
• Ability to triage, escalate concerns and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
