Shift Type: Rotating 12.5-hour shifts; exact start/end times and days vary by assignment (per diem Med/Surg)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
- Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor clinical changes
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and document accurately
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and safe discharge plans
- Respond promptly to patient needs and acute clinical situations
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record documentation
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact license eligibility
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS or other specialty certifications preferred when available
- Clinical experience or comfort working in a medical-surgical setting
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Medical-surgical nursing principles and patient assessment
- Safe medication administration and IV therapy skills
- Electronic health record (EHR) documentation best practices
- Patient and family education techniques
- Infection control and safety procedures
- Time management and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
