Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult Med/Surg patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments, monitor clinical status, and document findings
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with policies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatments, and discharge planning
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic medical records and handoffs

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of Hawaii licensure or valid compact license as applicable)
• Med/Surg clinical experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or as required by facility
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and time-management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse healthcare team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of Med/Surg patient care principles and common medical-surgical conditions
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Proficient patient assessment and monitoring skills
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and accurate documentation
• Excellent communication and patient-education abilities
