Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care on the Medical/Surgical unit with compassion and clinical excellence
• Perform thorough assessments, develop care plans, and execute nursing interventions
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor patient status and escalate changes promptly to the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Document care clearly and timely in the medical record to ensure continuity

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure — Hawaii state licensure preferred or eligible
• Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred or obtainable
• Experience caring for adult patients in a Medical/Surgical setting is strongly preferred
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and prioritization skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with patients and colleagues

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and common adult conditions
• Proficiency with medication administration practices and electronic charting
• Skilled in patient assessment, IV therapy, and wound care
• Good time management, delegation, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment
• Compassionate bedside manner and patient education skills
