Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Continuously monitor telemetry and quickly recognize and respond to rhythm changes
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic to ensure continuity and safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Float between similar units as needed to meet facility staffing needs while maintaining care standards
• Support unit staffing and patient flow during weekend and night coverage
• Follow ACLS, BLS and NIH stroke protocols to deliver evidence-based interventions

Qualifications

• Active RN license required (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent MS/Telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications and NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Experience with Epic charting required
• Comfort and experience working 12-hour night shifts and covering every-other-weekend
• Willingness to float between like units and be a flexible team player
• Flu vaccine required (medical or religious exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
• First-time travel nurses are welcome

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Medical-surgical patient care and prioritization
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Comfort working in a Level III Trauma Center / teaching hospital environment
• Ability to manage typical MS/Tele ratios (approximately 1:5-6)
• Effective communication and teamwork during night shift operations
