Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, including every other weekend and some holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $76 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care to laboring mothers and newborns in a rural LDRP setting
Triage and assess patients in active labor with efficiency and compassion
Function as the primary baby catcher and transition nurse for newborns
Administer Pitocin titration and manage labor progression
Collaborate with charge nurse and on-call providers to ensure safe outcomes
Support postpartum recovery and gynecological surgical patients as needed

Qualifications

At least 1 year of L&D experience required
Experience in LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum) setting
Ability to triage and serve as baby catcher/transition nurse
Must hold current ALS, NRP, and AWHONN EFM certifications
Active RN license in Colorado or compact state; must be willing to obtain CO license if needed

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines for nurse-patient ratios
Skill in Pitocin titration and managing labor drips
Familiarity with OBIX electronic fetal monitoring system
Ability to work independently in a rural hospital with limited resources
Effective communication and teamwork in a small unit
Adaptability to changing patient volumes and on-call providers
