Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to ICU patients with confidence
• Continuously monitor hemodynamic and respiratory status and act promptly
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage complex IV therapies safely
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute care plans
• Respond quickly to emergencies and participate in code and rapid response events
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and goals of care
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Louisiana or eligibility for immediate licensure
• Minimum ICU experience preferred; demonstrated critical care competence
• Current BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfort with ventilator management, vasoactive drips, and advanced monitoring
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a fast-paced team
• Current CPR certification and adherence to facility immunization and training requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of invasive lines
• Ventilator management and basic ventilator troubleshooting
• Assessment and management of multi-system critical illness
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Strong clinical judgment, priority setting, and time management
• Ability to educate patients and families with empathy and clarity
