Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care to adults in the ICU
• Continuously monitor and assess patients, interpreting hemodynamic and ventilator data
• Administer medications and therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to develop and implement care plans
• Respond effectively to emergencies and participate in code response as needed
• Document patient care thoroughly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Support and educate patients and families during critical illness
• Participate in unit orientation, training, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (ability to obtain Kentucky licensure as required)
• Experience in an ICU setting (critical care experience expected or preferred)
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred or able to obtain
• Strong assessment skills and familiarity with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and infusion therapy
• Ability to pass required background check and drug screen
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively on a fast-paced team

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or BSN)
• BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and intervention
• Ventilator management and respiratory support fundamentals
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• IV therapy, medication administration, and safe dosing practices
• Electronic medical record documentation and charting accuracy
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
• Familiarity with emergency response and ACLS protocols
