Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM), every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in a 33-bed ICU with an average daily census of 16
Manage trauma, cardiac emergencies, overdoses, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
Titrate cardiac drips, insulin, sedation, and other critical medications
Interpret telemetry strips and monitor GE telemetry system
Collaborate with nurse aides and healthcare support techs to ensure optimal patient ratios (1:2-3)
Float to PCU or MedSurg as needed, maintaining safe patient assignments

Qualifications

Active RN license (compact license accepted)
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Must have a valid driver's license (used for 50-mile radius verification)
Experience with titration of drips and telemetry interpretation preferred
Willingness to take an open-book exam on skills during orientation (90% pass rate required)

Knowledge & Skills

Comfortable with common ICU diagnoses and procedures
Ability to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility to adapt to changing patient conditions and unit needs
