Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care in the NVICU unit, managing patients with complex needs
• Monitor and manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support to optimize patient outcomes
• Perform central line and arterial line care and assist with placements when needed
• Respond rapidly to clinical changes, participate in codes and emergency airway management including intubation
• Document thoroughly using Meditech to ensure clear, accurate patient records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members—physicians, RTs, pharmacists—to coordinate care plans
• Support and educate patients and families through critical illness with compassion and clear communication
• Float across ICUs, BMT and PCU floors as needed while maintaining high standards of care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum 1 year of ICU/critical care nursing experience (as listed)
• ACLS certification (required)
• Comfortable with ventilator management, central line/A-line care, and intubation support
• Experience or comfort with Meditech EMR (preferred)
• Ability to work night rotations and at least 4 weekends per schedule period
• Team-player attitude, accountable and caring bedside manner

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and ICU workflows
• Ventilator settings, troubleshooting and weaning strategies
• Central line and arterial line care, infection prevention
• Recognition and rapid response to hemodynamic instability
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic medical record documentation
• EVD care fundamentals and neuro/oncology critical care familiarity
• Strong communication, prioritization and teamwork skills
