Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate patient care as the designated charge nurse in a dynamic ICU float pool across multiple facilities within Zone 3
• Manage a diverse patient population including MICU, SICU, TICU, and CVICU patients with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1-2 (flex up to 1:3)
• Respond to codes and rapid responses throughout the hospital, providing critical care expertise
• Titrate all critical drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, and insulin
• Interpret telemetry strips independently and manage respiratory equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen
• Float between facilities as needed, including OrthoColorado Hospital, Longmont United Hospital, St. Anthony Hospital, and St. Anthony North Hospital

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience required
• First-time travelers must have 3+ years of ICU experience and Epic experience
• Valid and unrestricted RN license in Colorado or compact state
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
• Preference for prior travel nursing experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in titrating and managing critical drips: pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, insulin
• Ability to interpret cardiac telemetry and 12-lead EKGs independently
• Experience with ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen therapy
• Strong leadership and communication skills for charge nurse role
• Comfortable floating across multiple hospital units and facilities within a 60-mile zone
• Epic EMR proficiency required (preferred for first-time travelers)
