Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM start with variable end times, plus rotating call coverage including weekends and holidays

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $98 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist surgeons as the first assistant during complex procedures across ortho, robotics, neuro, GYN, and vascular specialties
Scrub in and provide hands-on support for total joints, robotic hysterectomies, spine cases, and brain tumor surgeries
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth case flow and optimal patient outcomes
Float between campuses when needed to support staffing demands
Respond to call within 30 minutes to cover urgent and emergent cases
Maintain accurate documentation using the Cerner EMR system

Qualifications

Active RN license in California
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
RNFA certification or equivalent first assistant training
Strong experience in ortho, robotics, neuro, and GYN surgical specialties
Proven scrubbing skills as an RN
Ability to take call and respond within 30 minutes

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise with DaVinci robotic systems
Comfortable with total joints, scopes, and complex spine procedures
Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Flexibility to adapt to varying case lengths and call schedules
