Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating shifts including every other weekend and rotating holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population including trauma, cardiac, stroke, and pediatric patients
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including physicians, mid-levels, and techs in a fast-paced Level III Trauma Center
Float between Bryan and College Station campuses as needed (16 minutes apart)
Precept new staff when required
Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms
Administer common drips such as Diltiazem, Cardene, Nitro, and sedation medications
Triage patients in the first eyes position after demonstrated competency
Care for critically ill patients including those on ventilators, chest tubes, and rapid transfusions

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience in a Level III trauma center or similar setting
Active RN license in Texas or compact state
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS required
Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam prior to start
Ability to float between two campuses and adapt to varying patient volumes

Knowledge & Skills

Advanced cardiac life support
Pediatric advanced life support
Trauma nursing and rapid assessment
Dysrhythmia interpretation
EMR proficiency (PulseCheck or Picis)
Patient triage and prioritization
Team collaboration and communication
