Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage and stabilize high-acuity emergency and trauma patients quickly and effectively
• Lead and participate in resuscitations and critical interventions for trauma, stroke and pediatric emergencies
• Manage ventilated patients and perform advanced airway/ventilator management as needed
• Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias — you’ll take a proctored dysrhythmia test on day one (pass/fail)
• Chart accurately and efficiently in Cerner to ensure clear, timely patient records
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams including RT, pharmacy, hospitalists and intensivists (all available 24/7)
• Support unit flow in a fast-paced ER environment caring for a high daily census
• Step into charge/lead roles when scheduled (charge nurses do not carry patient assignments)

Qualifications

• Current RN license (able to practice in California)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in emergency/critical care or other specialty high-acuity setting
• ACLS and BLS required; PALS and NIHSS required; TNCC preferred
• Demonstrated experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia recognition and ventilator management
• Comfort using Cerner (EMR) and familiarity with GE telemetry systems a plus
• Level II trauma experience preferred — high-volume ER/trauma experience strongly preferred
• Travel experience preferred; ability to adapt to a busy, team-focused environment
• Willingness and ability to pass an on-site proctored dysrhythmia test on day one

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN not required
• Active RN license in California

• Emergency nursing and trauma care expertise
• Telemetry and dysrhythmia recognition
• Ventilator management and critical care skills
• Stroke and pediatric emergency care knowledge
• Ability to work effectively with EMT techs and multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with Cerner charting and acute care workflows
• Strong prioritization, assessment, and rapid decision-making skills
• Leadership and charge nurse capabilities when assigned
