Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department, prioritizing safety and clinical excellence
• Perform rapid triage and ongoing assessment to identify urgent needs and escalate appropriately
• Monitor cardiac and other physiologic parameters, intervene as needed and document findings accurately
• Collaborate with the ED team—techs, providers, and unit clerks—to coordinate efficient patient flow
• Use Cerner to document patient care clearly, promptly, and in compliance with unit policies
• Coach and give real-time feedback to colleagues to support continuous improvement and teamwork
• Deliver exceptional patient experience using AIDET and compassionate communication, keeping patients and families informed

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license (current) and active clinical credentials
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting
• Preferred: 2 years' experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (>100,000 visits)
• Required certifications prior to start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC required within 90 days of hire
• Ability to float within all areas of the ED (but not outside the ED), strong teamwork and adaptability
• Demonstrated ability to provide coaching and constructive feedback in real time

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Cerner electronic documentation
• Triage expertise and emergency assessment skills
• Cardiac monitoring and familiarity with GE monitors
• Experience with Baxter infusion pumps
• Comfort working in a high-volume, fast-paced emergency department
• Strong communication skills and patient-centered bedside manner (AIDET)
• Ability to manage varied patient ratios (typical 4:1, up to 7:1 on behavioral holds)
• Team coaching, mentoring, and real-time feedback delivery
