Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to diverse patient populations
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate timely care
• Perform and document treatments, interventions, and patient responses clearly
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up
• Respond to emergencies and stabilize critically ill or injured patients
• Maintain accurate, timely charting and handoffs to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted RN license (eligible to practice in Louisiana)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) strongly preferred or required based on facility policy
• Previous Emergency Department (ED/ER) experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing assessment and triage principles
• Management of acute medical and traumatic presentations
• Familiarity with ED workflows, triage systems, and rapid documentation
• Ability to perform under pressure with calm, organized decision-making
• Basic familiarity with electronic health records and clinical documentation
