Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the Emergency Department
• Perform rapid triage, assess acuity, and prioritize care for incoming patients
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document interventions accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Monitor patients closely, recognize clinical changes, and escalate when needed
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and next steps
• Participate in orientation and unit-based training to maintain competence

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Kentucky (must be active and in good standing)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous Emergency Department experience preferred; new grads with strong ER clinical exposure are welcome to apply
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and communicate clearly

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and rapid assessment skills for undifferentiated patients
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking in emergent situations
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Familiarity with ED protocols, trauma response, and emergency interventions
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient education skills
