Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Provide direct patient care within scope of practice in the Emergency Department and Telemetry setting
• Assess patients rapidly, communicate clinical changes to physicians, and escalate concerns promptly
• Educate patients and families about diagnosis, care plans, and follow-up needs to support recovery
• Direct and guide other nursing personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards
• Interpret telemetry rhythms, implement interventions, and monitor responses to treatment
• Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality, and compliance with EMTALA and mandatory reporting requirements
• Complete required documentation, screenings, and competency verifications accurately and timely

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Nursys verification expected)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications as listed by the facility
• Proven telemetry competency and rhythm interpretation skills
• Ability to perform emergency nursing duties and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Successful completion of required facility exams and skills checklist prior to start
• Clear background and health screenings including drug screen, TB screening, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap, fit test

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong grasp of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation
• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Basic pharmacology knowledge for medication administration and safety
• Emergency Department workflows and triage principles
• Patient/family teaching and clear clinical communication
• Understanding of EMTALA regulations and mandatory reporting procedures
• Ability to use electronic health records and complete required competency exams
