Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts, per diem; exact start/end times and scheduled days vary by facility scheduling

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, efficient emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
Perform rapid triage and prioritize care in a fast-paced ED environment
Administer medications, treatments, and monitor patient responses
Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in the EMR
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, discharge instructions, and follow-up
Respond to emergencies with calm, decisive action and evidence-based interventions

Qualifications

Current RN license in Louisiana required
Active BLS certification required; ACLS or PALS preferred
Experience in emergency or ED/ER nursing strongly preferred
Comfort with 12.5-hour shift structure and the pace of emergency care
Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Triage principles and emergency nursing workflows
Familiarity with common ED procedures and emergency medications
Proficient documentation in electronic medical records
Critical thinking, rapid assessment, and decision-making under pressure
Ability to provide compassionate patient and family education
Team-oriented attitude and effective communication skills
