Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in the emergency department
• Perform rapid assessments and triage to prioritize care for emergent patients
• Administer medications, treatments and emergency interventions safely and accurately
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Document patient assessments, interventions and outcomes clearly in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans and follow-up care
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact RN license where applicable
• Prior emergency department or urgent care experience preferred
• Basic Life Support certification required and Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to perform under pressure
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shift blocks and adapt to rotating schedules
• Current immunizations and compliance with facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• Acute care interventions and emergency procedures
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
• Prioritization and time management during high-volume periods
