Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Rapidly assess, triage, and prioritize care for high-acuity presentations
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions safely and efficiently
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate patient care
• Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and response to interventions
• Participate in codes, emergency responses, and rapid clinical decision-making
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented unit culture focused on patient safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligibility for LA licensure
• Experience in Emergency Department/ED nursing preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) highly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency assessment, triage, and prioritization
• IV therapy, medication administration, and basic procedures
• ECG rhythm recognition and basic cardiac care
• Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Crisis management and rapid decision-making under pressure
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
