Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Department
• Triage, assess and prioritize incoming patients to ensure timely interventions
• Administer medications, treatments and emergency procedures according to orders and protocols
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate rapid care
• Document assessments, treatments and patient responses accurately and responsibly
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments and discharge planning
• Participate in continuous quality improvement and departmental safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligible to obtain
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Experience in Emergency Department/ER nursing preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking and the ability to thrive under pressure
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-focused attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing principles and triage practices
• Cardiac monitoring, IV therapy and medication administration
• Rapid assessment and stabilization of acute conditions
• Electronic medical record documentation and charting accuracy
• Calm, decisive action in high-acuity situations and strong multitasking ability
