Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in the Emergency Department
• Perform rapid assessments and triage to prioritize patient needs
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
• Monitor patient status, interpret findings, and escalate concerns promptly
• Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up care
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused environment that improves patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Hawaii license or ability to obtain state licensure)
• Prior Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to work 12.5-hour clinical shifts and adapt to variable schedules
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Current immunizations and required health screenings per facility policy

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills with ability to prioritize under pressure
• Proficiency in IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency interventions
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation and clinical workflows
• Team-oriented mindset with strong collaboration and conflict-resolution skills
• Patient- and family-centered care approach with strong teaching skills
