Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate in the Operating Room for cardiovascular and other surgical cases, ensuring patient safety and smooth procedure flow
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs to prepare equipment and supplies for diverse cases (CVOR, robotics, gyn, urology, ortho, ENT, general)
• Maintain meticulous sterile technique and adherence to unit policies for infection control
• Provide 1:1 perioperative care and vigilant patient monitoring throughout procedures
• Document care accurately in the EMR (Meditech ORM) and communicate critical information during huddles and handoffs
• Participate in on-call coverage, responding promptly to emergent surgical needs

Qualifications

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) credential appropriate for the state
• BLS certification (required)
• 2 years OR circulating experience at an acute care hospital (must-have)
• Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) experience (required)
• Experience across a varied surgical caseload: general surgery, ENT, urology/gyne, ortho, robotics
• CNOR certification (preferred)
• >5 years experience (preferred) for priority consideration
• Familiarity with Meditech ORM or similar EMR systems

Knowledge & Skills

• Operating Room circulation and perioperative workflows
• Cardiovascular surgery principles and CVOR protocols
• Robotic-assisted surgery support and instrumentation
• Sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and procedure prep
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and fast-paced decision-making
• EMR documentation (Meditech ORM) and accurate electronic charting
• Ability to respond to on-call events and adapt to schedule changes
