Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments with professionalism and care
• Conduct thorough interview-based assessments to capture veterans’ histories and complaints
• Perform focused physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing
• Complete clear, timely documentation and medical opinions, including addendums as needed
• Review diagnostics and incorporate findings into objective exam reports
• Adhere to non-treatment, one-time exam protocols — no prescribing or ongoing treatment
• Coordinate with VES for credentialing, scheduling, and submission of completed reports

Qualifications

• Active MD or DO degree (physician-level credential required)
• Specialty background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or broad general medicine experience
• Experience performing Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams or familiarity with non-treatment medicolegal-style evaluations preferred
• Comfort performing interview-based exams, range of motion testing, and muscle strength assessments
• Strong clinical documentation skills and the ability to produce timely, clear reports and addendums
• Willingness to complete required onboarding and portal training quickly
• Ability to maintain an office location within a 50-mile radius of the listed city for office-based assignments

Education

• MD or DO (required); board certification in specialty preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in interview-based clinical assessment and focused physical exam techniques
• Proficient with range of motion and muscle strength testing protocols
• Excellent medical documentation and report-writing abilities (addendums, medical opinions)
• Comfortable reading and integrating diagnostic studies into exam reports
• Able to work independently in an office setting and manage brief clinic workflows
• Adaptable to quick credentialing processes and new portal/platform training
