Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist
• Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes in accordance with PT Board requirements
• Assist with maintaining the therapy department and keeping treatment areas in safe working order
• Participate in patient care and rehabilitation conferences to support coordinated care
• Assist nursing staff by training Restorative Aides and caregivers on maintenance programs
• Communicate patient progress, problems, and plans clearly with the care team
• Report equipment issues and support timely maintenance to ensure safe patient care
• Support patient and family instruction for safe discharge and ongoing care at home

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in good standing with the state board (required)
• Proficient with EHR systems such as Casamba and PointClickCare
• Familiarity with treatment documentation requirements (daily notes, weekly progress notes)
• Experience or comfort providing caregiver and restorative aide training
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to meeting continuing education requirements per state practice

Education

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (state license required)
• Must maintain required continuing education per state regulations

Knowledge & Skills

• Physical therapy treatment techniques and patient instruction
• Documentation and record keeping per PT Board standards
• EHR usage including Casamba and PointClickCare
• Caregiver and restorative aide training methods
• Basic equipment maintenance and safety reporting
• Effective patient communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
