Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in an acute inpatient rehab setting to identify impairments and functional goals
• Develop and implement individualized care plans that drive measurable patient progress
• Deliver hands-on and evidence-based physical therapy treatments across orthopedics, neurology and cardiopulmonary cases
• Use and supervise appropriate patient lifting equipment and safety procedures to ensure safe mobility
• Document evaluations, progress and discharge plans clearly and efficiently in Cerner PowerChart
• Coordinate care and communicate recommendations with families, nursing and the wider rehab team
• Provide one-on-one skilled therapy with attention to patient-centered outcomes and safety

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (required)
• Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
• At least 1 year acute care experience preferred; prior inpatient rehab experience is a strong plus
• Comfort with orthopedics, neurology and cardiopulmonary procedures and populations
• Proficiency with Cerner PowerChart or similar electronic medical record systems
• Ability to work professionally in street clothes as required by unit dress code

Education

• BS in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Acute inpatient rehab experience and clinical reasoning across multiple diagnoses
• Patient evaluation and care plan development
• Skilled documentation in Cerner PowerChart
• Safe patient handling and familiarity with lifting equipment (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove)
• Strong verbal and written communication with patients, families and clinical teams
• Time management and the ability to manage a 1:1 patient ratio when needed
