Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ mobility, strength and function to create personalized treatment plans
• Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions to help patients regain independence
• Document progress thoroughly and communicate outcomes with the care team
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and rehab staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on exercises, safety and long-term recovery strategies
• Adapt treatments creatively to meet each patient’s goals and facility protocols

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist license in South Dakota (or ability to obtain state licensure promptly)
• Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program (DPT preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or obtained upon hire
• Clinical experience treating adult/geriatric populations preferred
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with rehab documentation standards
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills — you’ll be part of the care family

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; graduation from an accredited PT program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in musculoskeletal assessment and functional mobility training
• Experience with therapeutic exercise, gait training and assistive device selection
• Comfortable using modalities and adaptive equipment as clinically indicated
• Knowledge of safety standards, infection control and facility policies
• Proficient in clinical documentation and interdisciplinary communication
