Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions under the direction of a licensed PT to help patients regain independence
• Assist with patient assessments, treatment planning, and progress measurement
• Implement therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional mobility activities
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide holistic, patient-centered care
• Educate patients and families on home programs and safe mobility strategies
• Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate changes to the supervising PT

Qualifications

• Current or eligible California Physical Therapist Assistant license (preferred active license)
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or willing to obtain
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first mindset
• Comfortable working in a skilled care/rehab setting and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
• Professional, dependable, and able to manage time and documentation effectively

Education

• Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• State PTA licensure required or eligible

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic modalities, gait training, transfers, and balance interventions
• Proficient with patient assessment, treatment planning, and outcome tracking
• Familiarity with clinical documentation and electronic health records
• Knowledge of infection control, safety procedures, and HIPAA standards
• Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and patient education skills
