Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care through inpatient pharmacy functions, including order entry and order verification
• Perform medication checking and safe medication dispensing to support effective therapy
• Rotate into ambulatory roles such as anticoagulation clinic services, oncology clinic support, and other outpatient responsibilities as assigned
• Collaborate positively with pharmacy technicians, nurses, providers and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Support clinical activities across patient populations from pediatrics to geriatrics in an acute care setting
• Adhere to state and federal pharmacy laws and institutional policies to ensure regulatory compliance
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and medication safety practices

Qualifications

• Current license issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for reciprocation in Pennsylvania within 90 days of hire
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred
• Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required
• Pharmacy residency experience preferred for ambulatory rotations
• Advanced practice certifications preferred (e.g., anticoagulation, oncology-related credentials)
• BLS certification required for certain ambulatory assignments and renew every two years
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (required)
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Inpatient pharmacy operations and acute care medication management
• Order entry and order verification workflows
• Medication checking and safe dispensing practices
• Clinical pharmacy principles across diverse patient populations
• Ambulatory pharmacy services including anticoagulation and oncology clinic support
• Knowledge of current state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
• Patient-centered care and effective communication with healthcare teams
