Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Baltimore, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem / As scheduled, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (evening) — shift type: day
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, respectful direct care to geriatric residents, supporting dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting) with patience and respect
- Support safe transfers and mobility assistance using proper techniques to prevent injury
- Observe and promptly report changes in resident condition to nursing staff and document accurately
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control and safety protocols
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working with older adults and those with memory care needs
- Ability to pass background check, TB test, and any required health screenings
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work scheduled per diem shifts
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an approved GNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and dignity-focused caregiving
- Familiarity with safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Understanding of basic infection control and medication observation practices
- Good documentation habits and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and patience for working with seniors and families
- Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with clinical teams
