Roles & Responsibilities

• Support occupational therapy treatment plans by delivering engaging, patient-centered interventions
• Assist with therapeutic activities that improve daily living skills and functional independence
• Document patient progress clearly and timely in the facility’s EMR
• Collaborate closely with supervising OTs, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize outcomes
• Educate patients and caregivers on home programs and safety strategies to promote long-term success
• Safely assist with transfers, mobility training, and adaptive equipment fitting to reduce fall risk

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential
• Current California COTA licensure/registration as required
• Availability for a 13-week contract starting 2026-04-09
• Clinical experience with diverse patient populations preferred
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to complete background checks and facility onboarding

Education

• Associate degree or completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of therapeutic activities to support ADLs and IADLs
• Proficiency in safe patient handling, transfers, and mobility techniques
• Comfortable with clinical documentation and basic EMR navigation
• Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
• Ability to adapt therapy approaches to varied settings and patient needs
