Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, helping with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility support, promoting independence and dignity
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
- Support mealtime assistance and feeding as needed, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration
- Maintain accurate resident documentation and communicate effectively with the care team
- Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to maintain a safe environment
- Build positive, respectful relationships with residents and families to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Pennsylvania) or completion of an accredited CNA program
- CPR/basic life support certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable providing hands-on resident care and assisting with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Ability to pass background checks and required facility screenings
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing terminology and resident care principles
- Skill in taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Ability to follow care plans and document observations clearly
- Understanding of infection control practices and patient safety
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
