Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care and help with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding and mobility while preserving dignity
• Take and record vital signs, reporting changes in condition to the nursing team
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to keep residents safe
• Collaborate with nurses and therapists to support individualized care plans
• Support a positive resident experience through respectful communication and emotional support

Qualifications

• Current and active CNA certification (must meet Pennsylvania requirements)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and working directly with residents
• Reliable transportation to reach the Smethport facility for per diem shifts
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience a plus, new CNAs who are eager to learn are encouraged to apply

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and active certification

• Basic patient care and safety procedures
• Taking and charting vital signs accurately
• Safe resident transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Infection prevention and hand hygiene best practices
• Clear documentation and communication with the care team
• Empathy, patience and the ability to build rapport with residents and families
