Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living
- Monitor and report changes in residents physical and emotional condition to nursing staff
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility to preserve patient dignity
- Take and record vital signs and document care accurately and promptly
- Support a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents
- Communicate effectively with residents, families and team members to ensure coordinated care
- Participate in facility training and follow established infection control and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Current and unencumbered CNA certification in Pennsylvania
- Completion of an approved nurse aide training program
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first attitude
- Reliable attendance and ability to work the assigned shifts
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills including taking vitals and assisting with ADLs
- Knowledge of infection control best practices
- Ability to observe, document and report resident changes accurately
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well on a multidisciplinary team
- Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
- Awareness of resident rights, privacy and dignity standards
