Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing staff
- Perform safe and accurate documentation of care, following facility policies
- Support mobility and transfer needs while using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Collaborate with the care team to create a positive, person-centered environment
Qualifications
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Pennsylvania
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain if required by the facility
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility health/immunization requirements
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
- Comfortable with hands-on resident care and basic clinical tasks
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of resident care and activities of daily living
- Basic infection control and safety practices
- Accurate documentation and charting skills
- Effective teamwork and communication with nursing staff and residents
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
