Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care in an acute care setting
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and changes in patient condition accurately
• Support safe patient transfers and positioning with proper body mechanics
• Maintain infection control standards and ensure a clean, safe environment
• Communicate effectively with nurses and the interdisciplinary team to support care plans
• Document care and observations clearly in the patient record
• Actively participate in unit workflows and contribute to quality improvement

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (or equivalent) — Hawaii certification preferred or eligible
• Experience or comfort working in an acute care environment
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or willing to obtain
• Ability to work 12.5-hour clinical shifts and adapt to per-diem scheduling
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to meet facility health requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in basic patient care skills (ADLs, bathing, feeding, toileting)
• Skilled at taking and documenting vital signs and patient observations
• Familiarity with infection prevention and aseptic technique
• Comfortable assisting with patient mobility and transfers
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and the care team
