Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
• Monitor and accurately record vital signs and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living while promoting dignity and independence.
• Maintain a clean and safe care environment by following infection control and safety protocols.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Document care activities accurately in the charting system and follow shift handoff procedures.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in Pennsylvania (required).
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program.
• CPR/BLS certification from an accredited provider (preferred).
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings.
• Reliable transportation to Gettysburg Center and availability to work night shifts.
• Strong communication skills, compassion, and a teamwork mindset.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited CNA program with state certification.

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care.
• Competence measuring and documenting vital signs.
• Understanding of infection control and resident safety practices.
• Clear verbal and written communication with residents and care teams.
• Time management and prioritization in a busy care setting.
• Familiarity with electronic or paper charting systems is a plus.
