Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver timely, high-quality emergency nursing care including assessments, medication administration, IV therapy and wound care
- Triage patients efficiently and prioritize care for ESI 1 through 5 presentations
- Provide trauma-informed care consistent with Level II/III trauma standards
- Perform and document cardiac monitoring, lab draws and urine collection accurately
- Stabilize and manage patients for STEMI, stroke, sepsis and trauma as needed
- Communicate clearly with multidisciplinary team members to ensure smooth handoffs and continuity of care
- Contribute to a positive unit culture by attending shift huddles and supporting teammates
Qualifications
- Current, active RN licensure appropriate for practice in Texas
- Minimum 1 year nursing experience (ED experience preferred; posting notes preference for greater than two years)
- Level II or Level III trauma experience required
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS; PALS, TNCC or ENPC required per posting
- Preferred certifications: CEN, TCRN, CPI
- Comfortable working with Meditech EMR and common ED equipment (cardiac monitors, IV pumps, tonopen)
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong emergency department assessment and documentation skills
- Proficiency with medication administration, IV therapy and wound care
- Triage and trauma management knowledge
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and handling critical care activations (STEMI, stroke, sepsis, trauma)
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR and vital sign flow integration
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and collaborate in a fast-paced team environment
