Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility) with respect and dignity
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident interactions
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility procedures consistently
• Provide compassionate emotional support and companionship to residents
• Collaborate with the care team to help implement individualized care plans

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required) — you are the heart of hands-on resident care
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility
• Comfortable working with older adults and people with varying care needs
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Dependable, professional, and able to communicate effectively with residents and team members

Education

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Completion of an approved GNA training program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care and common age-related conditions
• Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Basic vital sign measurement and observation skills
• Reliable documentation and charting habits
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide compassionate care
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
