Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality labor and delivery nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patients
• Circulate and assist in C-sections, maintaining sterile technique and efficient OR flow
• Manage inductions, artificial rupture of membranes (AROM), use of IUPC and fetal monitoring (DFM)
• Operate and troubleshoot unit equipment including Alaris and PCA pumps, Monica Novii telemetry and CPN (GE) monitors
• Perform reliable fetal assessment with Doppler and continuous fetal monitoring
• Document care accurately and efficiently in CPN Gold and Meditech EMR systems
• Collaborate with OB hospitalists, residents and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe outcomes
• Support unit staffing needs through teamwork, cross-coverage and participation in self-scheduling

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on Labor & Delivery experience (must-have per unit guidance)
• Demonstrated ability to circulate C-sections (must-have)
• Preferred: greater than 2 years L&D experience and prior high-risk L&D exposure
• Active Registered Nurse licensure appropriate for practice (facility will verify licensure requirements)
• Current Basic Life Support certification; facility may require additional certifications per policy
• Comfortable using unit technologies: telemetry, pumps and EMR charting systems

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) as required by facility

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor and Delivery best practices and maternal/newborn care
• C-section circulation and operating room workflow
• Inductions, AROM, IUPC placement and interpretation
• External and internal fetal monitoring (DFM) and Doppler use
• Competency with Alaris pumps and PCA pump management
• Monica Novii telemetry and CPN (GE) monitoring systems
• Documentation and charting in CPN Gold and Meditech EMR
• Strong teamwork, flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced L&D unit
