Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care for adult patients across critical care units and floors
• Manage and operate mechanical ventilators (GE R860, Draeger, Hamilton C1, Newport HT70) to optimize patient breathing
• Deliver and monitor high-flow oxygen therapy (Vapotherm, Comfort Flow) and other respiratory modalities
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered respiratory plans
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in Cerner EMR to support continuity of care
• Float across critical care units as needed to meet patient needs and support staffing

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina Respiratory License (required)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (required)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications (required)
• At least 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (as indicated)
• NRP and ACCS are preferred but not required — nice-to-have certifications

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong competency with mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
• Experience with GE R860, Draeger (infant/peds), Hamilton C1, and Newport HT70 ventilators
• Skilled with high-flow oxygen devices such as Vapotherm and Comfort Flow
• Comfortable documenting and navigating Cerner EMR
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced critical care settings and adapt across units
