Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, ensuring comfort and safety
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
- Maintain accurate records and document care delivered in a timely manner
- Support a positive, respectful environment that promotes resident dignity
- Collaborate with teammates to deliver coordinated, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification or equivalent required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents safely
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
- Comfort working evening/night hours and supporting a diverse resident population
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and infection control
- Skill in safe resident handling and mobility assistance
- Ability to observe, record, and report clinical changes accurately
- Familiarity with patient privacy (HIPAA) and professional boundaries
- Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks during shift
- Team-oriented mindset with a focus on resident-centered care
