Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and compassion
- Take and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe patient transfers and use proper body mechanics to prevent injury
- Document care accurately in the resident chart and communicate effectively with nurses and families
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
- Participate in team huddles and contribute to care planning and improvements
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- CPR/BLS certification (current or willing to obtain)
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but new grads welcome
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and basic patient care
- Strong communication skills with residents, families, and care teams
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or in a team
- Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
