Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, treat and evaluate patients with respiratory insufficiency and acute pulmonary conditions
• Operate and manage respiratory equipment including oxygen systems, nebulizers, suction, CPAP and BiPAP
• Provide ventilator care and participate in respiratory management for critically ill patients
• Respond quickly and professionally as part of the on-call night team for urgent respiratory needs
• Document patient assessments, treatments and changes in condition using Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and interdisciplinary team members to create safe, effective care plans
• Participate in stroke education and specialty initiatives when applicable to the unit

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (specialty: RRT)
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience (required)
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications are required
• NRP certification and stroke education experience are preferred
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR is preferred by the hiring director
• Team-player attitude, strong critical thinking and patient-centered focus

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in respiratory therapy techniques and pulmonary assessments
• Comfortable with ventilator management, CPAP/BiPAP and airway suctioning
• Strong patient care and critical thinking skills in fast-paced acute settings
• Experience documenting care in Meditech or similar EMR systems
• Ability to work independently on night shift and collaborate during codes and rapid responses
• Familiarity with stroke-related respiratory needs and newborn resuscitation (NRP) is a plus
