Location: Bismarck, ND

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM; weeknight call 3-4 times/week 3:15 PM - 6:45 AM; weekend call every other to every third weekend; rotating holidays

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform first scrub duties in complex open heart surgeries including CABG, valve replacements, and aneurysm repairs
Assist in thoracic and vascular cases such as thoracotomies, VATS, and AAA repairs
Utilize advanced technologies like robotic surgery, ECMO, Impella, and Stryker towers
Cross-train into general OR specialties and float to other units as needed to support patient care
Participate in call rotations to ensure 24/7 coverage for cardiovascular emergencies

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR experience with open heart surgery
Active BLS certification required
Certification as CST or through NCCT required
ND UAP (Unlicensed Assistive Personnel) certification or eligibility
Willingness to cross-train and float to other units during low volume

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in open heart procedures: CABG, valve surgery, aneurysm repair
Proficient in robotic surgery, thoracotomy, VATS, and vascular cases
Experience with ECMO, Impella, and Stryker tower systems
Ability to first scrub independently and work effectively in a team
Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care
