Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Varied day shifts, 8-hour shifts starting at 6:00 AM or 10:00 AM, includes overnight call once a week and weekend call one weekend per month.

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain sterile operating room environment for complex cardiovascular surgeries
Assist surgeons during open-heart procedures including CABG and valve replacements
Monitor patient vitals and interpret EKG strips to ensure safety
Anticipate surgeon needs and manage instrumentation and supplies
Collaborate with the entire surgical team to optimize patient outcomes
Respond quickly to emergencies and provide critical intraoperative support

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR experience required
BLS and NIHSS certifications required
Ability to interpret EKG strips and respond to cardiac rhythms
Strong teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced environment
First-time travelers welcome to apply
Candidates must not have been employed by CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity within the past year

Knowledge & Skills

In-depth knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures and instrumentation
Proficiency with Cerner EMR for documentation and case management
Expertise in sterile technique and infection control protocols
Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume OR with 8-10 surgeries daily
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
