Roles & Responsibilities

• Attend deliveries as the baby nurse providing expert newborn care from the very first moments
• Start and maintain IVs while monitoring newborns requiring specialized support
• Transfer infants to higher levels of care when advanced treatment is needed
• Provide compassionate postpartum care for mothers and babies as a flexible LDRP team member
• Monitor and support newborns with phototherapy, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, and NOW withdrawal
• Assist with umbilical line placement and maintenance for infants needing advanced support
• Administer and titrate drips including D5W and TPN with precision and care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Washington or compact license
• NRP and BLS certifications required
• Skilled in attending deliveries as the baby nurse
• Experience with IV start and maintenance and transfer to higher level of care
• Preferred experience in NICU Level 2 and postpartum settings
• Comfortable with Bubble CPAP, HiFlow, and umbilical line placement assist

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills for newborns requiring specialized care
• Ability to flex between SCN and postpartum assignments based on census
• Experience with CPAP, BiPAP, HiFlow, and ventilator support prior to transfer
• Knowledge of common newborn conditions including sepsis workups and phototherapy
• Excellent communication and collaboration with neonatologists and care teams
