Shift Type: Rotating night shifts, 10:00 PM - 10:30 AM (overnight/12.5-hour style), includes weekends. Typical expectations: primary night coverage with weekend responsibilities and alternating 7 on / 7 off patterns for nights; techs work 12-hour weekend shifts and every other weekend night coverage.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and compound intravenous (IV) medications accurately and safely to support patient care
• Support inpatient hospital pharmacy operations including medication dispensing and inventory management
• Use Cerner electronic medical record to process medication orders and document medication activities
• Collaborate with pharmacists and clinical teams to ensure timely medication delivery and patient safety
• Follow unit and hospital policies, maintain sterile technique where required, and adhere to infection control standards
• Participate in weekend and night coverage, ensuring continuity of pharmacy services during off-hours

Qualifications

• NC technician license (required)
• 2+ years hospital pharmacy or pharmacy technician experience (experience: 2+)
• IV preparation/IV experience required
• Night shift experience preferred/comfortable with overnight schedules
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR preferred
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced inpatient environment

Knowledge & Skills

• IV preparation and sterile compounding techniques
• Hospital pharmacy workflow and unit-dose/IV processes
• Electronic medical record experience (Cerner)
• Medication safety practices and inventory control
• Ability to work independently on night shift and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
