Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage complex ventilated patients including ventilator adjustments and airway care
• Perform and manage CRRT (including NxStage equipment) for acute/chronic renal failure patients
• Safely start and maintain IVs, manage PICC/central lines and arterial lines
• Provide cardiac monitoring, interpret dysrhythmias and respond to cardiac emergencies
• Administer and monitor complex medication regimens including vasoactive and cardiac drips
• Deliver chemotherapy and blood product administration per protocol
• Use Epic for accurate, timely charting and coordinated patient care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (RT, PT, pharmacy, rapid response) to optimize outcomes
• Provide infection prevention, isolation precautions and patient/family education
• Assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy/endoscopy support, chest tube care and EVD management

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Ohio (or eligible) — must meet facility requirements
• Minimum 2 years ICU/MICU experience within the last 3 years, with at least 1 year of current specialty experience
• Travel experience required; no first-time travelers (hard stop)
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Proficiency with Epic charting required
• Comfortable with 1:2 patient ratios and high-acuity caseloads
• Experience with mechanical ventilation, CRRT, arterial/central line management, and IV therapy
• Ability to pass facility orientation (72 hours) and work rotating schedules reviewed every 4 weeks

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
• IV therapy, IV starts and maintenance
• CRRT (NxStage) and management of renal replacement therapy
• Arterial line and central/PICC line care
• Cardiac monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias and emergency response
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), BiPAP/CPAP management and ABG interpretation
• Chest tube care, suctioning (ETT/NT) and EVD familiarity
• Continuous IV sedation, titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips
• Epic electronic charting and documentation best practices
• Infection prevention, phlebotomy and isolation precautions
